Luke Clennell (apprenticed 1797 to 1804)The vignette appears in the first edition (1804) of the Water Birds, p. 373. A pencil and wash drawing in the collection of the British Museum was used as a transfer drawing but the engraving that was published is smaller than the drawing. with a different composition. Bain also notes that a business register identifies that the engraving was made during the week ending November 8, 1800.
